History:
The prototype army-version, XM16E1, was different in appearance from the pre-production AR-15, adding the forward assist. In November 1964, the Army ordered 85,000 XM16E1s for experimental use, and the Air Force ordered another 19,000. This particular M16 saw most service during the time when US troop levels in Vietnam were the highest.
Model Gun features:
This is fully functional 1:1 size model gun that uses 5.56mm replica plug fire cartridges. This model gun XM16 can be disassembled like the real thing. Full metal construction, only plastic are the parts that were plastic in real XM16.
